Supporting Activism

The University of Oregon is an institution that values, honors, and supports freedom of speech and expression. We recognize that the healthy exchange of ideas and views is not only a cornerstone of democracy, but a crucial aspect of a quality educational experience.

As an institution, we support our students’ rights and desires to gather and assemble for any number of reasons. This includes expressing ideas and thoughts about, articulating critique of, and requesting review of or a change in institutional policies, practices, and procedures.

The purpose of this website is to provide information about the institution’s philosophy and approach, and details about obligations, requirements, and practices that students should be aware of.
